The stone on this bolo tie is Chinese Writing stone which is a distinctive igneous or metamorphic rock made of a dark matrix (such as black basalt or limestone) embedded with pale or white crystals (usually plagioclase feldspar or andalusite/chiastolite) that naturally form shapes resembling ancient Asian calligraphy. Most deposits of this stone are ironically found in California! The stone is 2” long and 1 1/2” wide with setting.
The stone is set in sterling silver with a sterling silver twisted wire frame. The bolo is 3mm Black braided leather and measures 32” long.
