This stone, Leland Blue, was purchased from stone cutter Gary Wilson. The following is from his site regarding what exactly this stone is: “This is a great “recycled” material from northern Michigan. It is actually a glass slag which is the byproduct from smelting iron ore which was mined in the upper peninsula and brought down to the lower peninsula for refining. The slag was waste material that was dumped into lake Michigan. Used in railroad beds and even foundations of buildings in the late 1800’s. The blue is quite rare and is the most highly prized color.”

The color of the stone is unique. The stone is set in texturized and oxidized Sterling Silver and hung on a 22” ,2.75mm Oxidized Foxtail Sterling Silver chain.
